Run: 1:16 Week: 6:00 Track workout turned improv 4 x 400 (200): 85, 83, 79, 80 Plan was for 11 reps of this on the dirt track. After just two reps I was informed a middle school practice was about to start and I'd have to leave. So I ran reps 3, 4 extra hard. Was tired waking up but was shocked how fast the splits were for the effort. I remember struggling to run 85s last fall. Then I jogged around for 5 minutes trying to decide how to improvise. Went to a 1k gravel loop with some elevation at Ute and went .5 miles hard with .2 easy. Those were around 2:57 and 2:52 or so. Have no comparison for how fast that is given the elevation. Then went .25 and a 200-ish untimed. Then had some time to spare and did 3 quick hill reps before I got home. Overall I feel I made the most of the situation. And I think I'm really pretty fit, been feeling for a while now like a get a significant boost from the long mountain runs I love doing on the weekends. Going to race Saturday, there's a 5 mile trail race and a 2 mile TT I have to decide between
