Daily Note

AM: 1.5 mile shake-out when we got to Alvernia with Zach, Gav, and Joe on the trail.
PM: 3 mile warm-up on the street to the Schukyl River trail. 3k: 8:48 for 2nd place and Silver. 1 mile cool-down on the trail with Joe.
Got out in about 5th place or something and saw Joe leading the pack. Wondered what this idiot was doing and figured whatever if that's what he wants to do. Stayed around 4-6th place for most of the race. The first 1k was pretty slow with Joe leading and then eventually shortly after Artis took over and the pace picked up for sure. I think the 1k splits went 3:04, 2:56, 2:47. I moved into 3rd place later in the race with probably no more than 600 to go and I felt decent for most of this race. Decided to make my move with just over 300 left and felt pretty strong for it so I picked up the pace a lot. Wasn't sure what was going on behind me and then out of nowhere going into the last curve Concannon had his usual kick and went around me. My initial thought was there was no way I could get back and pass him but then I went for it anyways. Going around the curve I took the inside and Rothstein went outside and we both passed him at the same time and then it was just an all out sprint to the line. My body just couldn't physically move any faster and he out leaned me unfortunately and beat me by 0.14 seconds. Going around the curve into the last straight we were overlapping a dude which was shitty timing and may have played into the race a bit but I'm not sure I don't think that's any excuse regardless. To be honest the last portion of that race is just a blur it's one of those that you feel like is tough to even remember. It was an extremely fun race though and I'm happy I could get 2nd and really happy Joe was able to get get on the wood too at 5th. Sucks I couldn't get two golds but I'm still very happy with my performance this weekend and it's a step in the right direction even though there's still a lot of work to be done. Going to finish this one tomorrow since it's already long as shit--->
