Daily Note

Goal was to start doing some track workouts this week so figured I'd start off similar to how the team started this year. 4x800 at threshold pace on the track with 1' jog recovery. (2:47, 2:44, 2:44, 2:45) . I am happy I got this in, it wasn't too challenging but i felt overall that I was a bit uncoordinated running at this pace. Choppy stride, not smooth at all. I was reflecting on the cooldown about this effort. I really need to be careful this indoor season about my workouts with regard to expectations. I ran sub 15 last year, I cannot expect to be in that shape now obviously. I have to slowly work up little by little each week to get to back to that fitness level and stack my efforts. I felt disappointed initially after the workout because that pace felt tough. but its my first one. Last year I had zero expectations with my workouts early on. I just did them by feel with no regards to times i needed to hit because I had no idea about where I'd be at after 2 years away.
