65deg, sunny. eagle creek late afternoon. roads. 18min easy, then 4,5,6min with 1min rest fartlek. felt really good on this workout. definitely my best workout since long covid. low 6min pace on the fartlek with effort very controlled. HR was where it should be, but legs could've gone quite a bit faster. pace on the last one around circle drive was 6min. plan was 3x4min but wasn't paying attention on the second and went 5min instead. was feeling good so did 6min on the last one still feeling great. cooldown felt great as well. I feel like I'm ready for RAIN. Hopefully my quads are bomb-proof now, I'm definitely in the best shape I've been in since long covid and I'm feeling rested and ready. Just have to manage effort, nutrition/hydration, and motivation on the day. I don't think I'll have any excuses except injury or giving up.
