Daily Note

Fall weather is approaching! Been feeling quite nostalgic for cross country thanks to that. Extra double this week since my midweek workout was shorter than usual.
The last few days at work have been pretty frustrating. My assignments last sprint were pretty easy; this time around I've been having problems with every step of just setting things up. Guess that's just how it goes sometimes. Thankfully, a good run is just what I needed to clear my head. The only time I've ran South Salk before was during the heat wave and I still enjoyed it, so needless to say it was even better when I wasn't melting every step. Also found a really awesome bug on the path that looked like a combination of a leaf bug, praying mantis, and a dragonfly. After going down the rabbit hole of mantises, I'm almost 100% sure from my photo that it's a purple-winged mantis, which are found in... Australia? Maybe this thing was someone's pet or something, no idea how else one would end up in Schaumburg. Anyway, between that find and some Nando's for dinner, the day ended much better than its middle.
