Daily Note

Workout at Waterfall like last week, though this time at a more reasonable hour and with much less humidity--weather was almost perfect. Unfortunately this workout wasn't quite as solid. The river absolutely soaked my Kinvaras, which suck when they're wet because the feet slide around on the soles a ton. Seemed like the sliding was worse on my left foot--maybe the flat-footedness of my right actually helped? Probably wishful thinking. To make matters worse, there's that big hill right after the river so it's really double trouble at that point. Completely lost my rhythm but thankfully the mile 5 downhill gave me a nice buffer so my overall average was spot on. Feels like a "comfortably-hard" effort is maybe just a few seconds slower than marathon pace, which I think is about right. Second part of the workout was tougher--started off a bit hot and slowed down once I hit the mile 1 hills again. Still averaged faster than MP for that part, so really not all that bad.

Western Springs heatmap double from Spring Rock Park. Ran shirtless but felt cold in a good way. This probably won't be the last time this week I mention how fall weather is approaching.
