Linne Woods long run with Goldberg and his older friend Mike who claims to be close to becoming the CEO of Chipotle. Learned from that MK that I might be able to get myself into a better marathon start corral after all, though I won't know if that's definitely possible until close to race day so I should still prepare for the worst. We flipped around ten out (making this my northernmost run in Illinois) and faced some rising temps on the way back. Not the fastest or best-feeling long run in recent memory, but the goal was just to get in a controlled aerobic effort. Off-brand gelatin cubes didn't sit super well but I still fared better than Mike--we had a true Good/Bad/Ugly split today, with Goldberg feeling good, myself not as much, and Mike falling back quite a bit after his energy snack destroyed his stomach. Cooled down in the very shaded Linne Woods trails, then enjoyed a day stacked with The Stray Hen, Catan, Zoms, editing Darkest Timeline, and maybe even another round of Catan after writing this log.
