Daily Note

Somehow, Saltz convinced me to do it, and I'm glad I did. We set off on Saturday morning on Dunbar, and despite taking time off I felt pretty good and was just happy to be running again. Before we knew it we hit tobacco, and it felt very strange making that right turn onto tobacco rather than going straight to finish out Dunbar. Still though we were both feeling good, and it wasn't until we crossed the second covered bridge on Tobacco, which was around mile 10, that my legs started to feel rough. Still we pressed on though, motivated by the thought of completing a route that no one before has had been stupid enough to attempt, and eventually we made it to the straight stretch of road where normally we would hang a left towards the nature park but this time we stayed straight towards Cellar. Hitting Cellar and going straight instead of turning off on the PNT was the strangest feeling of all, as never before had I run Cellar in reverse, let alone 12 miles into a run. Cellar started off fine, and then we hit the train tracks and started up the massive climb and things got rough. That final push to the water tower was absolutely miserable, I see why no one runs Cellar in reverse. It was all downhill from there though, and both my spirits and legs picked up for the final few miles, and in all honesty as we reached the track I felt that I could've kept going, for a few miles more at least. All in all it was a fun way to spend a Saturday but I wouldn't recommend. I can say that iI've done it, and will likely never again.
