Great birthday anniversary tempo today, and overall just a really pleasant and contemplative day. 50°, dry, sunny, and a fresh wind felt amazing. Hit 5:27, 5:29, 5:30, 5:37, 5:38, 5:35 for 33:15 total. Had a good effort on the hill sprints after. The hill by the high school on Grant Street is so much harder and steeper. Definitely got a bit excited at the start and felt it just a tad later on, but kept the effort controlled throughout. Was surprised how easy on the legs the quick pace felt. Bare arms felt a bit cold but nothing else to report. Really enjoy these sorts of grind days with school, running, lifting, and studying. On the more philosophical side, as somewhat of a reflection upon turning twenty and having lived through a score, I must say I worked my way very far into the activities I enjoy and dedicated my time to. I have made leaps and bounds at various points, some larger than others, but it is impossible to not notice the progress. Although I have done a lot before turning twenty, there are still things I have not yet accomplished that I though I could have. This should not be a demoralizer, but rather an impetus to continue striving to work harder and find new ways to improve daily. It is not always the finish line or end result that matters most, but rather what you do to try and get there.
