A.M. 500 yd. swim P.M. 3 mi. WU 2 x (800, 800, 400) w/ 200 jog 4 mi. CD HF Another short changeover type workout that really did not go my way. Was upper 40s, dry, and very windy from the east. Hit 2:32, 2:36, 1:16, 2:38, 2:40, 1:16. 3' rest between sets. Already felt out of it going in but it was the only way I could get the work in this week. Frustrated that I keep having my weekly track sessions be on and off. Last week's was great, this week's was poor. The confidence I gained last week was lost today. The consistent strong 15 mph wind from the east killed my momentum on every backstretch aside from the first rep of set one, as it felt like the only reason I was slowing down was because of the wind. The catch-22 of this sport, I guess. Never felt like a so-called tailwind helped me get back on pace. I really just need a break out race to make me feel like I am actually getting faster and that my training is working. It also seems that the weather for break in town will be subpar, so who knows how my workouts will go then. All I have left is to trust that everything will work out to my best satisfaction in the end.
