Daily Note

AM: Officially calling this the "8-2-8" (credit to Great Oak High School, CA). Felt meh going into it. Was tired from the week, but it still went well. First 800 in 2:24 (poor splits though: 1:09, 1:15). 2 mile "tempo" (honestly it was closer to threshold pace) was 10:53 (5:26, 5:27). Last 800 was kinda trash though: 2:36 (1:15, 1:21). What this shows is I have a lot of strength to use up early on, since I don't have a very strong kick. To exploit this, I need to get out strongly, then basically (but not), gun the 2nd mile and up until the 2.5 mark, because it seems after 2.5, I can't start accelerating (can work on this though). This workout definitely highlights my strengths, but shows that I need to work mentally on that last 0.5 - 0.75 mile. Good workout nonetheless. Will probably do a small double later. PM: Easy 4 mile double. Felt solid on it actually. Light arm work later.
