5:45 am 3 miles easy with strides 5x1k (3:34, 3:31, 3:34, 3:34, 3:35) 2 minute walk recovery 800 (2:49), 2 minute walk recovery 400 (81), supposed to be a 600, 2 minute walk recovery 400 (76), 2 minute walk recovery 200 (35) finally broke 36!!! cooldown with the crew leg strength #12 With Kelsey and JB for this. Took turns leading the 1ks, led the second one and happened to be the fastest, even though it felt the smoothest. Went through each 800 in 2:46-2-50 and felt good. Let them lead for the cutdown intervals after that. Went out really hard and felt like I was running into a wall on the 800. Went out hard again on the 600 and stopped after a lap. Maybe could have kept going but legs wouldn’t go. Rebounded on the 400 and Kelsey told me to lead. Went through the first 200 of the 400 in 36 and just tried to keep that effort. Helped having her on that lap and the entire workout, really felt like we work together well even if we ended up splitting on the faster stuff. Last 200 felt super fast, haven’t run a 35 in years, that was a nice feeling. I need to stop telling myself I’m slow and can’t go, because I know it’s there. Maybe not crazy speed but that college speed I thought I lost. Nice cooldown with Kelsey, JB, and Kristina. Really enjoy these Wednesday mornings. Stomach was trashed after the workout, must mean I’m working hard again! Lift after and lots of mobility. No double this afternoon, went a little longer this morning so was only going to do 3 miles to get the mileage in for the day. Stomach was still bothering me so just went for a walk to try and feel better. Probably walked 3 miles or more with Chirine.
