Daily Note

First "real" day with my new coach. I've got 2 months with her and 1 possibly 2 BIG competition.... maybe some smalls ones sprinkled in there..... But Definitely shooting for October 31(World Trophy 50k Gibraltar, Spain) possibly Oct 3rd(USA Nationals 50 miler somewhere, PA)

Logan Elm Track

2.2 warm up (sorry coach was suppose to be 2 miles misjudged the distance to track)

2x50 butt kicks
2x50 skips

drink- stretch -switch shoes- drink

4x1 mile
1- 5:55.93 (1:25, 1:30, 1:30, 1:30) drink, 400j
2- 6:03.61 (1:28, 1:33, 1:31, 1:32) drink, 400j
3- 6:06.25 (1:29, 1:34, 1:32, 1:31) drink, 400j
4- 6:03.69 (1:27, 1:32, 1:34, 1:30) drink, 400j

Overall time from my watch- splits from Dad he wasn't at the start/finish line so they might not be exact.

switch shoes- drink

1 x 10 minutes stairs- alternating 1-step on the way up then down (one-step) then 2-steps on the way up then down (one-step)....... hard on one-step thought I would fall on my face and had to go pretty slow but was easily able to power up the 2-steps (won't be saying that later today, could feel my quads burning during it)

suppose to be 5 cool down but you know OCD kicks in where it needs to end in .0 or .5 so 5.3 cool down... Dad drove me less then 3 miles to the 5 mile mark on my course.... even managed the "mountain"

Home- stretching

So I think I am disappointed and might have let her down.... But I didn't die but we'll see how tomorrow goes.. nerves might have got the best of me spit up a little before we left house and then less then a minute before started..wasn't able to drink enough because of this

pain in the knob/bone on lower back going towards butt and hip(left side).... on warm up knot in right calves but it went away.... normal left knee pain at times... then on stretching after run.. pain where the knee bends the back outside... nothing to prevent running

Later found out the goal was suppose to be 5:45-5:50 so failure!
