Run the Rockies

Run

Daily Note

Little road race with my dad. Said it was a 10k but it was 6.7. Did a 2 mile warm up. Told myself not to go faster than 7:00 for the first five miles. Did that well. The race was net uphill by like 250 feet. Pretty strung out from the beginning and 7:10's had me in like 15th or so. Then when we went uphill for 2 miles 7:10's brought me into like 6th. Last mile and a half I did 5x15sec strides with 75sec easy rest. Those felt aight. It was downhill for the last couple which made it easy. Ended up in 3rd I think. This one older dude (mid 30's?) had 4%'s on so I knew he would go hard. The kid in second was like 16. Pretty fun but did not like having to constantly think about not racing. The strides helped with that I guess. My dad said he was going to imitate Brad at the end, so he turned his hat around and closed his eyes and ran fast lol. Got a dope coffee mug.

It's incredible how much fitness you've lost in under a month. 7:10 pace for a 10K? Joe.
