Crisp Walk Shakeout

Daily Note

Woke up at 5:15, ate breakfast and went on a little walk as a shakeout. 25 progressive warmup with Peter and Patrick around the neighborhoods. 10k in 31:30 or so, good for 2nd. Started off really slow (84 or something) and then Peter went to the front to speed things up. Told him I wouldn't let him lead for more than 2k at a time. Moved up into good position and then hung there. Ran 76's for a while, took the lead and kept that going. Weird leading but wanted to help Peter out since the Case guys were definitely not going to help. Peter took the lead from me again which helped mentally. First 5k in 16:04 or something which felt pretty easy. Didn't start hurting until 3k to go or so. Took the lead again and Tony came with. Ran 74's and 73's until 1200 to go. He took off and I tried to stay with for about 50 meters before realizing it wasn't going to happen. Had a solid 100 meter lead on the next dude so conserved energy and cruised in. Really happy with how this one went. A really cool experience to be leading for so long. Cooldown with the guys and Aadi--seemed like a nice guy, but had a bummer of a race. Went very slow. Lunch with Peter and Aly. Pulse pants and lots of stretching. Tried to minimize outside in the sun time. Excited to get another race in tomorrow.
