It’s an unfortunate accident that my watch was displaying average pace of the run rather than the pace of the current mile. Splits that I had were 4:57, 5:05, 5:13, 5:22. The last two becoming slow because I was under the illusion that I was running faster, but I in fact was not. Happens sometimes even without the sabotage of a watch. Really wish my tempos could just be 4 miles without turning around, because that dead stop takes like 3 seconds and going back east into the sun takes away some momentum. Either way the pace felt a lot more natural than it did when I attempted this same tempo two weeks ago.
