Daily Note

GPS couldn’t handle the great outdoors and it was horribly off in terms of total mileage but we know from the markers where we started that it was 7.5 miles out to Cloud's Rest. (Took out half a mile to account for some ugly climbs that were brutal but I can't call running) Trail started out at 8150ft by Tenaya Lake and went all the way up to Cloud's Rest at 9931 ft. With ups and downs it was ~3000ft climbing total. Just about every moment uphill and honestly some of the downhills were pretty challenging on the lungs and some of the paces were crawling. I was also carrying a 2.5 liter water backpack at the start which was heavy but proved to be essential for the journey. A lot of the trail was definitely not meant for running but we were doing our best to speed through it anyway. Hopping left right, over rocks, through a wide stream, under a couple fallen trees made it like 11 minute miles but compared to some other running attempts up to Cloud's Rest that I saw on Strava this pace beat the vast majority of the other madmen's paces. Tough on the whole body but the view at the top made it pretty worth it.
