Daily Note

Had a nice remainder of my day yesterday and got back into a good mindset. Was greeted with a nice snowstorm this morning, but didn't let it get in the way of the running plans. Sought redemption from yesterday and did the route I planned - Alden to Livermore, williams to Phelps, back on Tamarack and down Livermore again. Finished with a loop around the block for good measure. Weather was pretty miserable honestly - coldest it's been in weeks and had snowy wind in my face the whole time. In between melting the ice off my eyelashes though, it was a quality run - the hills kept me honest and felt good to push the fitness along. 10mins of core to warm up inside after. Also finally scheduled a podiatrist appointment to check out my heel. Hopefully they'll provide some more concrete answers/solutions for me. Evening felt weirdly motivated to go lift - did my high school arm stuff, some various leg stuff and core. Decided to also see where my fitness is with running, so did a mini workout on the indoor track - 0.5 up, 5x400 @5k goal pace (200 jog in between), 0.75 down. 4s were 76, 79, 80, 81, 72. Last one was to practice end speed. Felt really good to do some more up-tempo type stuff and felt like I could probably hold around those paces for a race - we'll see in a couple weeks!
