Daily Note

Left from Skog @ 3:25pm when the weather was 36 degrees, 6mph winds, and sunny. Another beautiful day outside meant I had to break out the normal running shorts...no half tights like yesterday! No regrets at all. Felt awesome. The melting ice and snow had NW Roads quite sloppy, especially at each intersection and along the shoulders, but I'm not gonna complain since it gives me hope that spring is getting ever closer. Slower first mile to ease into things and then quite consistent from there on out as we hovered between 6:51-7:06 for the run's remainder. Tried to keep the perceived exertion to a minimum. Cardio remained relaxed and made sure the legs had a true recovery day. They were flat for the entirety of this thing, but did improve somewhat around the four mile mark, which was where Nobs turned around. That left just Julian, Sid & I. The freshman excitement got under my skin a bit, but kept things controlled and also made sure the pacing remained prudent. This was also after the first two miles where Cian managed to ten step the pack. Oof. Very few things get under my skin more during a run than that. (Number one is definitely heel clipping). Still a good effort for the body to recuperate. All in all it went by quickly, especially the outward bound trip. Jeff would've felt much longer. It's that route change up that's key. Had just barely enough time to squeeze in 4x100m strides on the downdoors track while baseball moved in. These felt very good, smooth, and speedy. Afterwards went upstairs for calf raises, toe tappers, rolling, standing stretches, 20x core circuit, 50 squats, & upper body lifting. Felt a tad week on dumbell curls and tri pushdowns, but everything else was quite solid. After 2.5 months, it seems like this lifting is actually starting to pay off. Neon Kinvaras @ 24.33 miles.
