Actually set my alarm this morning and got out the door and drove up to Haslett High School to meet up with Danny. He's heading out of town later today, so wanted to make sure to get one last run in with him. Started up around 9am when the weather was 27 degrees, mostly sunny, & 10mph winds. We went up to the Inter-Urban pathway and rolled along on that before turning left on Burcham to return to Okemos and take advantage of this beautiful new boardwalk they put in. Then came back by Central Park and Marsh for a nice ~5.5 mile loop. At this point Danny called it good, so I had to do the second half solo. Up to Lake Lansing Rd, then left on Okemos, then returned with Haslett road with a slight cul-de-sac add-on. Altogether a very solid route and one that had me covering some roads I've never had the chance to traverse before. Took about two miles to get the body going, but after that settled into low 7s and maintained that pace. Legs felt a tired today and the cardio was also easily stressed. Just didn't feel all that smooth. Thankfully stayed pretty warm and overall nice to get a productive start to the day. This continued on as I went to the MAC for a 20 minute bike. Main reason for this was to loosen out my legs after getting in the car after my run (also up at the high school parking lot, did stretching, 50 squats, and 25 push-ups). Then rolled and did 15 minutes of lifting. (Dumbbell row, curls, shoulder press, chest press). Went pretty well, nice talking to Tom again for the first time in a long while. Also forgot to mention that my foot had underlying pain this entire run. Came a bit more to the forefront in the final mile with slightly more sharp pain substituted for a dull ache, but still nothing too bad. Gonna keep running and keeping a prudent eye on it.
