Took me awhile to get out the door and going on this thing. Was working on setting up my family's Christmas village with my brother all afternoon and kinda lost track of time which also contributed to my leaving the house @ 4:29pm when the weather was 32 degrees, 10mph winds, and partly cloudy. Headed up Dobie to reach the five mile loop. My feet felt oddly (nearly painfully) sore on the bottoms for some reason. Noticed the foot some, but thankfully it was less painful than at the end of yesterday's run. More just a dull ache today. Bopped around in Shaker Heights to get in a longer warm-up before doing active skips and getting into the first true outdoor winter workout of 2019-20...10x1' (1' jog). Thought this was gonna be pretty easy, but was quickly reminded that these minutes and two minute winter WOs always seem to be a grind. Think it's simply readjusting the body to these faster paces. Once you dip sub-5 always gets tougher. Thankfully I still managed to keep the pacing quite even throughout with: .22, .22, .22, .21, .22, .22, .21, .21, .21, .21 covered. Was planning on 8 to begin, but after a more downhill eighth, decided I needed to hurt a little more and push through two more. Glad I did this, as it was hard, but still managed to not go to far into the well. Legs felt some very slight lactic and cardio decently strained. Turnover was noticeably quicker today with shorter stride length. Feel like I need to focus on the arms a bit more too. Good choice turning onto Manitou for four reps as the streets were very clear here, while sidewalks still had some rough patches. Finished right by the library and then cooled down back to the house with some slight extra added on around Chippendale and Breezy Point circle. Decent Christmas lights, but nothing spectacular (it had gotten pretty dark by this point). Pacing was very even a just sub-7 for these final 3.6 miles. Felt pretty smooth but foot was a slight bother. Came back inside and did pretty much nothing...worked more on the village with my brothers instead. Eventually got to some calf raises, R8 rolling, 75 push-ups, 50 squats, & 20x core circuit. Phil Kinvaras @ 137.59 miles.
