Daily Note

Family is headed up to the Harbor Springs/Petoskey area for the weekend. I'd have to do a two-a-day at some point in time during this vacation and I figured today was the most conducive to that. First effort left from the house at 8:55am. Pretty gloomy and muggy morning with 72 degrees, 90% humidity, 6mph winds, and cloudy. Made the strategic move to wake up at 7:45 and spend an hour packing in order to help myself wake up. Worked out pretty well I guess. Route had me finish up Briarwood, plus hit the Knob Hill and Club Meridian apartment complexes. Knob Hill definitely has my vote for the nicest one in Okemos. Saw the OKXC squad out for their classic 9am summer practice, which was good to see. Of course I got a boisterous hello from Ben, with some more appropriate one's from Andrew and Ian. Haha. Afterwards I did calf raises, toe tappers, rolling, 50 push-ups, 20 squats, 20x core circuit, & ankle mobility. Second effort left from our condo at 6:10pm. Was debating doing this earlier, right when we arrived around 3:15, but I decided the medium Sour Patch Kids blizzard sitting in my stomach from thirty minutes ago would lead to a less than opportune stomach, if even for only four-ish miles. Also wanted to go hit the pool with the family, so opted for that and the later run before dinner. Weather was surprisingly warm...super sweaty by the end of this. There's some decent elevation change up here, so was definitely tough ascending to the base of Nubs Nob during the first two miles. Second half of the run was on Pleasantview which was a bit too busy for my liking. Just stretching and 20 tricep PUs after this one. PF7s @ 471.1 miles.
