Nice Not Running Alone

Run

: 8.80 Mile(s) : 01:02:16 : 00:07:04.54 /mile : Brooks Pure Flow 7 #7 : 0.0

Daily Note

Woke up and knocked out 50 push-ups, 20 squats, 20x core circuit, balancing, ankle mobility, 30 butterfly sit-ups, & 20 diamond PUs. Finally had some sort of desire to get some GS done, so I just rolled with it...nice productive start to the day. Ran from Kinawa @ 5:35pm when the weather was 66 degrees, cloudy, 80% humidity, and 6mph winds. Drove the mile to Kinawa since I was meeting up with Brett and Ben. Nice being able to run with some guys, even if I was never on the team for all that long with these two! (Brett is about to graduate and Ben just finished up his freshman year at Michigan Tech). Ben always provides for some good conversation, and Brett was quite talkative today as well. Made for a very enjoyable 50 minutes with these guys. Added on an extra ten minutes or so by myself to the Chippewa parking lot and back. Normal route took us around the five mile loop with a Cornell/Shoals add-on. I didn't feel great on the run. I discovered my brother's Easter basket around 3 o'clock and he hadn't eaten much from it...meant I snagged a few pieces of candy after a cereal snack...felt this food sitting in my stomach. Legs were also a tad tired and HR was abnormally high. Cardio was mediocre. For some reason this slightly sore throat/cold symptoms seem to be sticking around...just enough to be noticeable during the day. For the most part though, this run was a positive, simply cause I wasn't alone...gotta make sure I meet up with people whenever possible this summer. Afterwards did rolling and stretching, then came home for Pillar GS x 12, Sally Up/Down, 120 penguins, & toe tappers. Right achilles very tight during rolling for some reason. First time doing Sally Up/Down in a long while...very poor. Also noticed the lack of upper body work. Couldn't get up from second hold. It's whatever though, as it should be fun to progress on this. PF7s @ 136.3 miles.
