Waitin' On A Sunny Day

Run

Daily Note

Ran from Porter @3:50pm when the weather was 52 degrees, partly sunny, and 7 mph winds. Sun came out more and more until it was a bright day on the turf after the run. Beautiful! Headed down to the Lower Arb with a big group that mysteriously kept getting smaller and smaller until we only had about 12 of the original 20 by the two mile pee break. Quickly those 12 turned into 3 when everyone but Plumb, Finn, and I turned off for Sharb. Our plan was Iron Bridge (though it's hard to call it a true Iron Bridge since the bridge itself is closed). Came back a different way though since that lower path was less than ideal with lots of rock deposition and two major puddles. As we were about to re-enter the Arb on our return journey, Turtle, Crispy, Trips, and Tris appeared and they kept going on down Radio Tower. Plumb decided it would be a good idea to give the boys a little fright when they came back into the Arb. Mike Finn and Plumb waited to scare 'em while I added on some miles on a trail I don't think I've ever traversed before. (I know, I know...slave to the mileage/consistent run, but I didn't want to stop for 7+ minutes). Met back up with the boys and had some nice conversation that made things go by quickly. Kept the pacing nice and slow today to maximize recovery between yesterday's race and a WO tomorrow. Felt solid with no real repercussion from the race. Even though my calves felt it some on the track last night, nothing today, and although the tibial tendon has felt a little more tight the last couple of days, it wasn't aggravated any more than normal...a positive for sure! Cardio remained unstressed as I don't think the HR got above 155. All in all a very solid and prudent recovery effort. Back on the turf was calf raises, toe tappers, rolling, stretching, the Elliot Core Routine, and balancing. Title creds go to Bruce Springsteen today. PF7s @ 452.2 miles.
