Daily Note

Ran from Porter @ 3:50pm when the weather was 67 degrees, 13 mph winds, and sunny. Another gorgeous spring day...makes me hate those rainy days even more. Today ended up being a real solid recovery effort. The quads were oddly tight, but overall, my legs felt the best they have in awhile. Not completely tired (even though they felt bad walking around campus) and was able to get into a good rhythm and enjoy myself. The route I took contributed to the fun nature of this run. After going with Birdo for the first 3.5 miles through the Upper Arb, I ventured off by myself when I took a left on Short Bryce. I then cut south through the golf course neighborhoods. I always like exploring new areas, and while doing this, I managed to find some of the biggest houses I seen in Northfield. Pretty nice neighborhood hidden back there in the midst of cornfields. I then returned on Bryce, but used the opposite sidewalk...just another way to change things up. Added on with a Prairie Loop...soggy in some odd spots, but overall runable! Good to see Matt Paal cruising along out there. My cardio was in better place today as there was less of that 'filtered' feeling, but it's still somewhat present. Just room for improvement I guess. Tibial tendon was minimal. I finished at Skog and got in calf raises, toe tappers, ankle mobility, and upper body lifting. I would've liked to get strides in, but it slipped my mind since I was out of my element in Skog. Finished here cause it had been over a week since I lifted and I wanted to get something different in. Although I was noticeably weaker today, I still had a good time with the effort. Chest press, pullovers, lat pulldown, shoulder press, tri pulldown, dumbbell curls, ab coaster, torso rotation, flies/delts, row, & tricep press. Returned to Porter where I was happy to see that Bill, Turtle, and Ben Scott were still at practice. R8 rolling and rolling before hitting the showers. PF7s @ 399.3 miles.
