Daily Note

Some weird sleep last night. Good amount, but woke up a couple times feeling ill...almost like stomach flu or food poisoning. Thankfully I felt fine upon waking up, but this will definitely be something to keep an eye on. Ran in Skog @3:30pm since the wind chill was sitting around -20. All treadmills other than this one Woodway in the front right were taken, so that's the one I hopped on. God was this thing loud. Sorry to everyone who had to listen to that monstrosity. This didn't help me in listening to my 'Mahler to Madonna' playlist. We've got a test on Wednesday in that class where the prof will play a song snippet and we need to name the piece. Figured this was a good opportunity to be doubly productive with both a run and mindless schoolwork. (A rarity for me! Usually like to make a clear delineation between my studies and running, as it's always a nice mental escape). For some reason, this music, combined with watching women's ultimate practice made things go by incredibly quickly. Started to get somewhat mentally tough around mile five (as is often the case with any indoor effort). Made sure to keep the pacing nice and easy to maximize recovery. Legs felt good and strong, though the cardio was a little restricted. Experimented some by trying to use the quads a little more. No reason, just felt good. Should note that whenever I'm running on the mill, it's at 1% incline. Unfortunately once the run was done and I took out my crappy headphones (shoutout Delta) my ears hurt. This was definitely from the sheer amount of sound pumping into my ears from the treadmill and music. Thankfully they felt better after a half hour or so, but will not be doing this again! Afterwards was calf raises, toe tappers, rolling, stretching, balancing, ankle mobility, and the Elliot Core Routine. Went pretty well today, especially with some music to listen to and Byv to chat with. Huge congrats to Nobs and Turtle for making Nats in the mile and 5K! Would be nice if it was closer than Boston, but I haven't ruled out going. PF7s @ 48.0 miles.
