Daily Note

Ran from Skog @ 3:50pm when the weather was 20 degrees, 7 mph winds, and partly sunny. Things started off cloudy, but were beautiful by the end. Pretty similar experience with my legs. Were initially very sluggish and heavy, but by the end they felt fine. Didn't notice the bounce in the new shoes as much today. Started off the effort with Byll, Liam, Cian, and Schwock, but the first two turned off for Short Bryce and the other two did Jeff. This left me on Bryce alone, which meant it was time to pull out an Elliot classic and act on impulse. (After all Bryce is only ~7.5 miles so I needed to add on a mile and a half somewhere). This provided a nice change of scenery around Northfield. Ran by a ton of churches (five or six I think?) as well as a third elementary school that I didn't really know existed. Also went back up on Third Street, instead of Second. I'm a big fan of doing this as it changes it up from a road we run on so, so much. Cardio was average, but all in all I felt decent on the run. It's nice to just be running some miles this week with no real goal in mind. Probably do some sort of longer effort Saturday, but that's the most I'm willing to plan out. Surprised my pacing was so fast since I felt so relaxed, if not slow at times, during this run. Malt-O-Meal smell was straight fire today...that Berry Colossal Crunch. After getting back to Skog, I did calf raises, toe tappers, the Elliot Core Routine, stretching, ankle mobility, balancing, Pedestal GS x 15, & 15 PT side-ups. Real glad I got to do the core circuit with some other boys...kinda hate doing it alone. Even with a week and a half off, it wasn't much harder. PF7s @ 14.0 miles.
