Daily Note

Ran in Skog @3:25pm and decided to hit the treadmills. There were two reasons for this: 1. I wanted to watch the Michigan State-Michigan basketball game (Go Spartans!) and 2. It was incredibly windy outside. I originally started out on a treadmill in the back row but only .3 miles in it started doing something weird with the belt. I didn't want to break another treadmill in Skog, so I shut that bad boy down and moved to the treadmill in the front left corner. Normally I like to use the Woodway's but they didn't have a good place for me to put my phone for the ideal game watching experience (lame reason, I know). Although this treadmill worked better and provided a phone platform, I'm still not a huge fan of it. It feels fine and all, but the pacing it spits out seems inaccurate. I felt like the 7:05 overall pace it had me at was a little slow, which is frustrating. For now I'll assume it's accurate, but really gonna use Woodways from now on to avoid this moral crisis. I also should consider that I might have just felt good today or was distracted by the game...who knows. Overall, this ended up being my longest treadmill run ever, but it certainly didn't feel like that. The MSU game made the time fly by. Settled in and made sure to keep things comfortable. Was chomping at the bit to go faster sometimes, but restrained myself. Had good foot placement and cardio was never stressed. I wanted to get in a longer effort for a multitude of reasons: 1. I have three off days upcoming, so that's great opportunity to recover, 2. The game was gonna distract me, 3. Long runs don't benefit you until two weeks later so I figured I'd want that come March 10th, 4. I wanted to hit at least seventy miles on the week. Afterwards was calf raises, toe tappers, rolling, stretching, ankle mobility, 60 push-ups, 20 squats, and 20x core circuit. Right calf/achilles was very sore but I made sure to really hone in on this while stretching to try and avoid the repercussion I had earlier this month after a longer treadmill effort on a similar treadmill. PF7s @ 603.8 miles.
