Daily Note

Got a lot of sleep last night and woke up late...10:30am. I was considering a two-a-day last night, and decided to follow through with this, even though it meant I would only have four hours between runs. Got going on the Woodway in Skog by 10:55am. Things felt very good this morning! Legs were fresh and cardio was nice and relaxed. Kept it slower and easier...pretty much just wanted to loosen up the legs from yesterday's workout and get a good start to the day. Afterwards did 20x core circuit, 20 squats, 60 push-ups, and rolling. Second effort left @4pm. Just Isaac, Luke, Cian, and I decided to head outside. Road conditions were finally at a place I felt comfortable with, but what scared most people off was the 21 mph winds. It was also only 12 degrees which made for sub-zero wind chill. Nice having the sun out though. This, in combination with the fact this was my first time outside since Saturday morning made for a very beautiful and enjoyable run. Face definitely was cold coming back down Jeff, but nothing unbearable. Some decent conversation with Isaac made the first four miles go by quickly, while the last 6.5 went by quickly simply because I was so happy to be out running around Northfield again. Sidewalks still had some rough patches, but managed to get in a decent rhythm. Luke and Isaac turned for Bryce, so it was just Cian and I on Jeff...unfortunately Cian was really struggling with the cold...he said it was the coldest he's ever felt on a run, RIP. This makes me forgive him somewhat for the occasional 25m surge he'd put on me. Still frustrating to have him pull ahead, then have me reel him in, and do that again x15 or so. Legs were in decent shape and didn't really notice the morning double. Kept the effort nice and easy so cardio didn't get stressed. Added a mile on S*#% Shack road, which was probably the coldest part of this thing. Came back inside for calf raises, toe tappers, R8 rolling, stretching, the Elliot Core Routine, balancing, and ankle mobility. Hip flexors felt it more on 90/90s & bicycles than usual today. Fun little fact: Managed to gain/lose more elevation on this single run than I did from January 28-February 7 thanks to Florida and indoors (553ft v. 520ft)! PF7s @ 512.9 miles.
