Daily Note

Woke up @8:45am and did 50 push-ups, 20 squats, and 20x core circuit. Ran from Skog @3:30pm when the weather was 2 degrees, 21 mph winds, and partly cloudy. Seemingly brutal conditions with a real feel of -18, but honestly never got all that cold. Very thankful for this, as it allowed me to get in all my miles outside. Hit up cross campus with a sized down crew due to weather...Justin, Plumb, Turtle, Henrik, Pael, Isaac, Soggy, and Sid. (Sorry if I missed anyone). Second time hitting the sign today. Someone's gotta put a sign up for that damn thing. Then went solo on Whore of Babylon with some zig-zagging to get back up second avenue. Even though the roads were mostly clear, I didn't feel all that great. Never got into a rhythm and cardio seemed strained at times. Saw the dead opossum by the golf course (it's been a pre-meet staple the last few weeks) and it was so frozen the thing looked like Jack at the end of The Shining (dare I say my favorite horror movie of all time?). Positive is that the calves felt better, though tightness is still present. Same stride routine as last week since it seemed to work pretty well. 2x100, 1x200, 2x60. Just like last time, was trying to hit 35 and did 32. Getting spiked up always feels good I guess. Love closing with those quick 60s. Finished out the day with calf raises, toe tappers, rolled, stretched, and upper body lifting. Did chest press, pullovers, rear delt, torso rotation, shoulder press, tri pulldown, dumbbell curls, side-to-side sit-ups, and flies. Went well. Was fun adding in the new delt lift...nice isolating some new muscles. Looking forward to another great opportunity in the 3K tomorrow. Pleasantly surprised with the amount of competition! Should be fun to see what Wachter, Karrick, and some of the Bethel guys can do. PF7s @ 260.3 miles.
