Daily Note

Woke up at 10:10am and did 50 push-ups and 20 squats. Alarm initially went off at 8:25. I was planning a two-a-day, but decided instead that sleep would be the number one priority today. Ran from Skog @3:30pm when the weather was 24 degrees, 10 mph winds, and partly cloudy. Headed out with a big pack of boys through cross campus and then went Whore of Babylon with Pael, Sid, Bill, Justin, Plumb, & Turtle. First mile of the run was accompanied by quite the football game, while miles three through seven were riddled with preposterous inquiries into my recent collaboration for class. Did my best to deflect all questions, but it looks like the meme lives to fight another day...oof! Cardio was good today, and legs didn't feel half bad. Definitely not quite as tired as they have been the last week while walking around campus. Added on by myself with a Manitou and campus loop. Got back and did some strides in spikes. Decided to switch things up a little though by doing: 2x100m, 1x200m, 2x60m. My thought behind this was getting the legs used to faster pacing before ideally dropping a 35 lap that would get me in the race feel for tomorrow (went far too fast though and did 32). The last two shorter strides where to get some quick stuff in. All in all, these felt very good. Looking forward to a great opportunity tomorrow. Always fun to race the Carls and the small size of the heat should hopefully provide decent conditions. To finish the day out, I did 20x core circuit, calf raises, toe tappers, rolled, stretched, and upper body lifting. Should note that my lower right calf has been pretty tight as of late. For the lift did ~25min of chest press, pullovers, lat pulldowns, shoulder press, tri pulldowns, dumbbell curls, torso rotation, and 10 PUs. Pretty solid lift. Feeling stronger in the chest especially. PF7s @ 173.1 miles.
