Daily Note

Woke up @10:30am...lay in bed for quite some time as legs felt exhausted. Ran from Skog @3:30pm when the weather was 30 degrees, 6 mph winds, and cloudy. As Reuben put it, some very 'eerie' conditions. Just me and him out there on Lando's plus reverse Jeff. Have always wanted to do this route after the legendary TayTay break away last fall. Decided today would be a pretty good opportunity to try the route out considering my long run was gonna be ideally 15 or so miles this week. This route ended up being fantastic. Going the other way down some roads I've covered so many times was fun...a different experience entirely. Noticed a spooky building surrounded by barbed wire for the first time right by the Dundas water tower. The usual pattern of dreading the run and thoroughly enjoying it was in full effect. Took awhile, but after getting to the top of Lando's hill things went great. Kept the pacing very low and slow...many of the middle miles sat at 7:30. This was much needed though and the legs kept feeling better and better as the miles added up. Cardio also seemed to improve. Great way to get yesterday's race out of both mind and body. Got back to Olaf at 15 and was feeling great and enjoying myself, so decided to add on a little more. After looking at my watch, I realized I was pretty close to two hours and 16 miles...two barriers I've never surpassed. Therefore decided to knock off both these milestones. Thankful conditions didn't get too dark outside too fast, (allowing us to run safely back down Hwy 19), but by the end, things were pretty much dark. Finished the day off with calf raises, rolling, 50 push-ups, 20 squats, and 20x core circuit. After the Carleton caf, R8 rolled and toe tappers in the room. PF7s @ 116.2 miles.
