Run

Daily Note

Woke up this morning at 9am and knocked out 50 push-ups, 20 squats, and 20x core circuit. Went up to the MAC after church to do the Upper Body Lifting Routine around noon. Went well today. Good form throughout with very solid lifts for the first two sets. Per usual, did 15x PT Side-Ups, rolling, 50 ninjas-in-a-rowboat, 30 resistance bands, 30 crunches, as well as calf raises and toe tappers. Run today was from the house @ 5:35pm when the weather was 85 degrees, 6 mph winds, partly cloudy, and 65% humidity. Route today took me up Dobie, around the five mile loop, and back through Kinawa East. Pretty nice evening out for a run...was worried it was going to be hot and muggy, but not bad at all. Yesterday afternoon,
I finally decided to head up to Playmakers and buy a Garmin 235. Wore it for my first run today...absolutely fantastic. In retrospect probably should have done this a while ago. Oh well, I guess the year with the Casio stopwatch makes me appreciate this even more. Cardio felt fantastic tonight. Was planning on going 6, but ended up extending it one additional mile. Legs were very fresh, bouncy, and smooth the first four miles or so, with slightly less of that energetic feeling the remainder of the run. Kept the pace reasonable (nice having those pace checks each mile) for a good, easy Sunday effort. Can't believe that was the final run in Okemos for the summer. Have kinda gotten sick of running these routes and running alone for most of it, but still have really appreciated and enjoyed this time home with my family. That being said, very much looking forward to getting back with the boys tomorrow morning! Afterwards, did stretching and MYRTL x 15. Pure Flow 7s @ 491.65 miles. Total Summer Mileage @ 962.
