Medal Hunt

Today's workout was hard, but good. The weather was glum so that is eh. I did a two mile warm up with Tynan and Brett to Warwick Court because there was a lot of traffic on the track. We went at a fair pace and then we met behind the press box for continuous with the rest of the team. The people who are in f/s Barrington had a ct so they were absent. We did continuous and some fast and then I got some quick calf RPR before the workout and did leg swings. My workout was by myself, I had 3x1000, 2x300, and 2x150 so it would not be a super easy workout to do solo. It was kinda windy pout, not as bad as Friday, but not fun. My goal was 3:00 for all three Ks, but solo in the wind it was tough. I was 3:01 for the first K and I have to admit it took a bit more out of me than I thought it would, but not too much. I was ahead of pace with 200 to go so i relaxed a bit too much the last 200 but oh well. I had three minutes of recovery and then ran a 3:03. This one felt hard, but not as hard as my first one did. After three more minutes I ran a 3:06, so a good workout. I think the reason these Ks felt tough was because I haven't done a longer lactic workout in a long time so this was a bit of a shock to the system. I went over to the 300 mark and then got on that. I did these by myself and it was hard. I felt more sluggish than usual, but then again 3x1000 is harder than a hold pace or a mile repeat, so good when looking at the whole picture. I ran a 46, jogged 500m, and waited until 4:20 to hit my second one. Another 46 and a 500m cool down. These were not super fast, but again I had a pretty tough effort before. I got on my flats and did some more stuff before my 150s. It was the usual SFS and again for these, I was by myself. Oh well. I did them and I felt kinda heavy, like my legs were not folding as nicely as I would have liked, but i know what to focus on for next time. I cooled down for two miles with Wallk and Coach and we talked about County. Getting hyped to SMASh that tow minute barrier. BZ gonna cop a fat pr with me. May focused, let's go!
