Daily Note

Felt pretty good 1K, 2K, and 5K. 3K and 4K kind of let up a bit and ran a few 76's and 77's which is kind of shitty. but, I did a pretty good job of staying calm and even when the pack of 4 was far ahead of me I was able to catch them the last 800. That is one of my strengths that I should build further on, the kick. A weakness is the the middle 2K, but I think that'll just come with an increase in fitness. My aerobic base is honestly really good right now I think, because my breathing doesn't crash and burn. More of just my legs aren't there yet. However, my only real goal for today was to have a good experience racing and to stay competitive, and I can pretty much say that I accomplished that. PR'ing wasn't a huge goal of mine, I knew going into the first outdoor race that it might be hard to do, considering we haven't raced in awhile, and that I'm coming off some long weeks. However, I did cut down ~.9 seconds from Grand Valley. So overall, this was a good experience. I would have liked to run a bigger PR, but track is just a stepping stone for me to bigger things, so as long as I can always get more fit and compete well, I'm sure the times will drop.
