0.5 SO, 2 WU, 1 PU, 3.1 Race, 5 CD. Coming into this race I thought it would be ideal competition/conditions to run a fast time. I was mistaken because the wind was more troublesome than expected. Before the race, coach said to run it almost like a fartlek (200 hard and 200 easy). We were on pace through the mile and Hunter and I exchanged leads, but 1-2 laps were slow between 1600 and 3k which led us coming through in 9:04. After that point I tried to push it but it was demoralizing seeing the #1 seed kick it in the last K after sitting in the back for 4k. I was happy that I stayed with the front pack but I should've been able to kick for 2nd. 3:07.5 avg for the last 2k is the main takeaway for this race. Also arms were oddly more tired than usual.
