Hehe beer mile training

Run

: 8.00 Mile(s) : 01:00:00 : 00:07:30 /mile : : 0.0

Daily Note

I did a lot today. Quick rundown:

Am: 2x 16oz water with 30 seconds breath hold between before class.
Lunch: 2x seltzer with 30 seconds breath hold after meal (~2 minutes recovery), 2x seltzer in 18ish seconds after
Dinner: 2x seltzer in 9.8 seconds cuz Jackson kinda challenged me (I basically challenged myself/him after I saw what he was doing)

After dinner: At 9pm (2.5 hours after finish eating), I went down to track and did the following workout: 10 minute warm up, Beer 800 (beer, lap, beer, lap) in 3:07. Probably coulda gone faster but I was hiding the beers in my back pack so it took me some time to get them out and put them back in before/after drinking. This is encouraging.

Then, I did 3x beer 400. I took ample rest after the 800 and did the first one in 1:30, drinking beer first. 50 jumping jacks right before to simulate being out of breath. The second one was tough, as I ran the 400 and then drank. Hit about 2:00, felt shitty. Then took more ample rest. I ran a 200 and then took about 20 seconds and drank and ran a 400 in 1:44 for the beer +400. This one hurt. Stomach was full and running hurt. But the result is encouraging.

I don't think I'll be able to chase the elusive 6:00 barrier, but I believe 6:30-7:00 is in range, which gets me on the all-time list. But again, I ain't no fucking quitter or pussy. So I'm going into this beer mile believing I can go sub 6. The hardest part is chugging while out of breath, so I'm gonna practice that hard for the next few days. Don't sleep on me yet bubs. I have faith. Also, this log was written after the workout, so I'm pretty buzzed rn.

Actual run: ran an easy Sharb with elliot and chemlick around 3:50. Was wicked hot out and my first real run in a brick so I felt really shitty after the first 10 minutes. Saw some bub carls (squish). Ran mostly with elli/chemlick, but stopped for water at Carrolton gym so ran back solo. Glad to be back out there, excited for when a short run like this doesn't feel like the worst thing in the world. Looking forward to upping my mileage next week and feeling normal again. Down time is super fun, but I like running a little too much.

Also, I'm starting my miles up by logging them as wisco miles to get ready for guatemala, so I added on to get to 45 minutes after run. Gotta decide soon if I'm doing 7:30 or 8 minute miles for the wisco miles.
