Daily Note

Really good workout with David this morning. Did a 20 min warm up with 10 minutes easy and the next 10 at like 5:50 avg pace, which felt odd but pretty smooth. Workout was 5xk at aerobic power with 90s jog rest, then 3x400 with 70s jog rest. Splits were 3:00, 2:59, 2:54, 2:53, 2:51, 65, 65, 63. I still definitely think that when done right, this is one of the hardest workouts that we do. Feel really good about it though. First two Ks were pretty even, next three came through 400 in 70 and just ran the last 600 faster each time. Felt strong on those, last few reps were smooth through 700 then started to struggle a bit so last one focused on that last 300m. Felt pretty tired on the 400s, couldn't really get it going but David leading the last one helped. Slight wind on the back stretch today. Did this workout last year this same day and was overall faster today in slightly worse conditions, so its nice to have something exact to compare last years fitness vs. this years. 25 min slow cool down.
