Daily Note

Woke up at the usual 7:40 than went to the tabernacle at 8 then went on our morning shakeout runs. We had 2 miles so we ran down and back down the road. It was raining during the run which was fun. I wore a rain coat but it did nothing the water went right through it. On the way back we passed some one and they were holding a sign and yelling “YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!” Which was pretty cool. Than we went back and had breakfast.

Then we did a prediction run because we had the flash light relay in the night. We did a 3 mile prediction run around the block. I predicted _________. I ran with Cole, Ryan, Alex, and Eric. Towards the end Eric and I picked it up. It was pretty obvious that we didn’t hit our pace. After lunch Owen left and we all said bye.

Then we had the flashlight relay. I was fortunate enough to make the second place plate. I originally made one plate but than I was told I had to make it into thirds because there are three people per team so I had to make new plate. I thought it looked good but someone else in my group disagreed and asked to fix it smh. We got our teams. I was on a team with Andrew who is pretty good his mile was a little over 5, and the person who offered to fix my plate. We decided to do our order from fastest to slowest so I would be going first. Then at 10:00 we went out to get ready for the flashlight relay. At the time it was not really dark you could still see pretty well. Then things got darker no one really warmed up. Then we went to the line and started. I got out hard to make sure that I was in the front. They had changed the course from the one we ran previously to a shorter one that avoided some water because it had rained all of last night into the morning. So the course consisted of running the switchbacks backwards then coming out of the wooded area and you run along the street and back to the start so it was about 1.1-1.15 miles. When it started i was in a pack of Jacob Myers. Aidan, Danny Burns, Kraemer, Alex, and one of the otsego twins. Myers led the whole time and the flashlights pretty much just brightened the area it was still hard to see the ground and the roots. I pretty much ran right behind Burns for the whole time and finished the leg in 4th. Then after leg two we were in 1st but because we had our slowest runner last we moved all the way back to 15th. I felt good while I was running. Then afterwards we went back to the tabernacle and had pizza. Then we went back to the cabin and got ready to go to sleep......
