Daily Note

~~~ The date was April 17th 2015, and it was the first big meet of the track season of the year. I was lined up for the 3200 meter, trying to beat my personal best of 9:52 from the previous year. The gun went off, but immediately went off again, someone had false started. A few minutes later, the race was off, and I was in a tight pack for a few laps. After the mile in around 4:55, I was in close to 10th. Then the leader (none other than Jake Heinauer) began to take off and thin out the field. I made some moves, and gradually picked a few people off to finish 6th in a solid 9:45. It was a great way to start the season, and I was pumped to have beaten some fast guys (sound anything like this Spire 3k?). Anyhow, fast forward a month and a half, and didn't even break 10 again. After such a promising start, I worked hard didn't even get hurt, but turned up empty handed. I watched in frustration as those succeed around me, and I failed. The point is, I can't let that happen again (and again). I am no stranger to opening the season with guns a blazing, but time and again I've had nothing to show for it. Not this time. ~~~
Workout with Jordan, Aadi, Kevin "Hardcore"-y . We did 6 by 800 at 2:21, and 3 by 200 at 31. Was able to turn over and get this one done. The Dex definitely helped. Got dropped on the warmup. Right groin is meh, which isn't a concern. Left foot is meh, which is. Doing everything I can.
