5x1.25mi w/400 rest

Daily Note

Goal: 3mi easy, 5x1.25mi w/400m rest @ 5:20-5:25, 3mi CD

5:10 am. GPS watch was dying so I used it on the WU to measure the loop, wore my Timex for the workout. Felt heavy on the WU but figured that 5:20 pace would feel manageable. First split I got was 2:35 at 800, then 5:08 at the mile before coasting in the first one. Rest of the workout basically mimicked that with variations coming more from the last 400 than anything else. I was just so locked into 77-78 per quarter, literally not deviating much until the last rep where I lost focus and started to daydream about breakfast and what traffic was going to be like. Respiratory rate usually got elevated after the first 800m then recovered after about a minute jog or so. Felt the same throughout the workout. Good on the CD.
