sick meet, had a breakthrough race today and learned a lot from it. running even was my only goal of the race and I ran 5:10,5:10,5:12 so i'm thrilled. felt like all those grueling ppm's and mile repeats in the shepard field were finally being channeled. big takeaway from this was mentality. this meet was very odd, with the staggered starts and no competition besides our team, and my preparation wasn't honestly too amazing, but my result still blew last Saturday out of the water. I think this has a lot to do with me psyching myself out when there's competition, and losing confidence or focus on myself. so heading into more competitive meets i'm gonna make sure to run my own race and focus on myself and our team rather than everybody else. so many great performances today, haven't heard too many results yet but josh satyr and both lucases i know had awesome races. i've been in the high 15s range for over a year now, so it felt so good to finally jump up and squelch out a new pr;) this was just an amazing day, all around.
