Oh my god that was a fire race. I was a little nervous before the race but once Paul took off his sweat top and I saw he was wearing the girls jersey my mood completely changed. I went from nervous to having fun and I think that really helped me do well in this race. I was feeling super good on the line and was ready to cook one. I got out very well right where I needed to be but the lead group got out so hard and I thought in my head, “damn they are botting so hard.” The lead pack started as a group of 6 and by the time we hit mile one it whittled down to 4 after I passed the two that were slowly falling. Going onto the track I was trailing that front pack and I knew I was able to make up ground. Every Time I saw stelios he told me to hunt and keep gunning for the next and that is what I did. I hit a 9:58 two mile and knew I could get sub 15. Around 1k to go I passed the DeKalb kid and then the Batavia kid and it was just me and Ryan left. I came up next to him on the S curve and he cut me off. I tried one more surge with 150 to go and he cut me off again. Finished in 15:09 which is a huge PR and technically a 14:54 because the course was long so that's dope.
