Daily Note

Today I was filled with a lot of different feelings that are way too hard for me to describe. Yesterday the lineup had consumed more time, thoughts, and feelings than it should've. I was dumb yesterday and was so absorbed that I forgot to stretch too. Today's race was treated like nothing else I have ever done; It was a "Revenge Tour". My goal was sub-4:50, which I didn't do, but I don't consider myself a disappointment for failing another goal. If you remember, my goals were 57 (achieved), sub-2:08 (x), sub-4:50, and Varsity 4x8 at conference (x). All of you know that I'm a "glass half full" type person and I'm very positive and optimistic, so I don't see it as a failure in any way. Simply I see it as I achieved one of my goals, not that I failed my other 3. Like I've mentioned before this was the best athletic season I've ever had and I'm content with it being over. Unlike last year, I truly understood what Joe Sullivan told me after my Maine East Invite race last year. He said, "If DFDC isn't in your heart, you'll never be great." I'm upset to see the Seniors leave, but I'm excited to see what the future holds for me and the rest of this amazing program!

Side Note: I gotta meet with Mr. Wathen tomorrow at 4:30 so I'll be at the meeting, but I gotta run on my own. #RevengeTour #XCSoon
