Daily Note

Today was conference and it was an awesome day. I got to the school really early and all bundled up to watch each class dominate today. The freshmen race was great to watch as Ethan and Jonah really edged their way up to pull off the win. Varsity was amazing as Cole and Wallk were able to stay with the main pack and also be all conference. I think it also needs to be said that the last Freshmen all conference in the CSL was Jason Polydoris, who ran 15:25 yesterday as a sophomore. During my race I felt really good and ready to pull off a sophomore win. I got out fast and felt comfortable. At the .25 mark somebody called out 71,72, which really got in my head. So we are clear, that is the pace of my 800m PR from track. Although I'm going to crush that time in the spring, it still got to me that I was on that pace and still had 2.75 miles left. I still felt good though and I lead the entire field for probably about 3/4 of the first mile. After we made the turn onto the bridge I settled back. I was pretty much that kid from NXN last year that lead for a while before getting passed by Kilrea, Mwaura, Hastey, and Troutner. I probably should have either stuck up there or not have gotten out that hot. Right when I finished I had to leave to get on a flight to my cousins Bat mitzvah so I couldn't watch the JV race, but I heard everyone crushed it.
