31 LR: Hank Aaron Trail

Run: 13.11 mile
Run Time: 01:40:22
Run Pace: 07:39.34 /mile
Run Shoe: New Balance 1080 V9
Note: DIET: Carb loaded last night with some rice + veggie stir fry. Also had Oatmeal + fruit + honey for breakfast. Brought along slightly salted water for electrolyte replenishment and a granola bar on the run itself AM: Low 60's and clear weather. Felt great for the first few miles, and then began to feel more sluggish as the run went on. Definitely need to do some progressions, and to just be patient that the miles will help me stay strong in later parts of long runs. First day of the internship tomorrow!

1 Week 1: Easy + core

Run: 2.00 mile
Run Shoe: Brooks Ghost (Black)
Note: AM: Rest day today, but considering today is my first day of my internship, I wanted to start it with a steady routine. Woke up at 7, ran down kilbourn, then did core/GS. Consistency is the goal!

2 lactate threshold by the lake

Run: 9.00 mile
Run Shoe: Brooks Ghost (Black)
Note: AM: had a banana & some granola and went out to run with a frisbee teammate. Temps were high 70's-low 80's. Goal was to do the tempo between 6:10-6:25 pace, but I hit 6:47 and 6:58, which was disappointing. As much as I gotta be forgiving to myself—it was the first real workout in this new cycle, it was a hot & windy day, and the first ½ mile was uphill—I need to recognize that I can't make excuses. I gotta be real with myself if I want to achieve my goals.

3 medium-long run: Shorewood

Run: 11.00 mile
Run Shoe: New Balance 1080 V9
Note: AM: ran up to shorewood along the river then along humboldt ave. warm day out, definitely felt slow. I was aware that the pfitzinger methodology emphasizes running on tired legs, but wow, today was the first time I really understand that feeling. Onwards
